Chemical Peels
There are many reasons why your skin looks so dull, spotted and scary. The reasons may be exposure to the sunlight, aging or pimples; you never know. To get a smoother and younger looking skin, you can try the treatment of a chemical peel. In this treatment a chemical solution is applied over the skin to remove the damaged superficial skin layers and to smoothen the texture of your skin.
A chemical peel which is also known as a derma peeling or chemexfoliation is a trusted and least invasive way to have a better appearance of your skin, in a short duration. These can be used over your face, hands, back and other body parts.

How the procedure of Chemical Peels is performed?
A chemical peel is performed by a trained dermatologist, in a well equipped dermatology clinic or in a daycare surgical procedure room.
Before starting the treatment the skin is thoroughly cleansed. Hair and eyes are protected while cleansing the skin. The medicated solution containing trichloroacetic acid, glycolic acid, carbolic acid, lactic acid or salicylic acid are applied in small patches over the skin. It causes skin to develop a wound which subsequently replaced by new, fresh skin.

It takes not more than 40 minutes for the procedure. It is performed in the outpatient clinic and allows you the immediate resumption of your routine activities post treatment.
How many number of treatment sessions required to have a desired effect?
The treatments sessions vary from 2 to 4 spread over an interval of 2-4 weeks duration. But the number may vary depending upon the need of the patient.
Is the effect long lasting?
The results of this treatment generally last long when adequate care is taken and all the advice given by Doctor are followed religiously. However, exposure to sun, consumption of unhealthy diet, smoking, poor skin hygiene etc. tend to reverse the effects of the treatment sooner or later. So the absolute care is very vital to preserve the look gained post the treatment.
